Clay and Gems: floral brooch in shades of purple

Posted on Mar 31, 2014 by in Tutorials and DIY |

For this lovely floral brooch I used tender periwinkle purple shade of polymer clay with pearl effect and deep purple rainbow fluorite cabochon.

1. Roll a ball of polymer clay

2. Press gem cabochon into polymer clay ball and slightly squeeze the protruding edge of polymer clay to cover the edge of the cabochon.

3. Make some twigs and leaves out of clay (An idea: you can use polymer clay of another color!)

4. Add a bit of texture to the leaves with an awl.

5. Bake it accordingly to polymer clay baking instructions.

After the baking, drill the hole make a necklace or glue the pin to make a brooch.
Good luck!

  1. Thank you so much! I have the clay and the cabs, but had no idea where to start! This is well done.
